The First of the Month

 

Once again it’s the first of the month and the money starts to flow.

The problems you’re having are not that important because today you get your dough.

So for the next few days you’ll live high on the hog, and you’ll spend like there’s no end in sight.

You’re the king of the hill.

You’re the man of the hour, because you’re treating people day and night.

But what happens when the money is gone and the curtain has come down?

And the people who swear that you’re their man starts treating you like a clown.

You’ll get depressed, and then the voices in your head said, “Damn you’re dumb, you did it again, you might as well be dead.”

So for the next few weeks you’ll walk around with your head hanging low, until the first when once again the money starts to flow.
